Marathon Runner.. Final Stretch..
Sitting here listening to one of my favorite artists, Nipsey Hussle’s new music and he has an this audio of him describing how he’s a marathon runner compared to a sprinter. and it had me thinking……..
5 years, and an AMH later…..the beginning of the end….I’ll never trade this life, my experiences, MY DAUGHTER in for anything! From Fort Wayne, to Fork Union, to KC, n finally GR..everything has shaped me into the man that I am right now..and i thank everyone that has supported me along the way!
Not too many people can do what I’ve done. Going so far from home, giving up your cell phone for a year (that’s just unheard of nowadays), being able to tolerate a coach that didn’t play you because of Lord knows, surgery, the birth of a beautiful, gorgeous, little princess (had to gas her lol), and still wake up for 8 a.m. practices everyday.. Yea, I’d consider myself a marathon runner. All of those things are nothing, but obstacles, hills, potholes, other runners in this race called, LIFE. I survived them ALL. It wasn’t easy at all, but i had people there pushing me, supporting me from start to finish. Even when I wanted to quit, walk off the court, out of school.. There was always someone there for me and I am forever thankful.
Tonight is Senior Night and I’m probably more nervous right now than I was for my first college game! So many memories and emotions have gone through my mind since our last game. Of course we have more games, but this is one is different…. The Beginning of the End..
From the first day i got to Fork Union Military Academy to me walking off that court tonight.. I can say I ran this Marathon the best way it could be ran and I wouldn’t change it a thing about it….. #DUBB
